Chance has worked for over 35 years as a commercial artist.

His work can be found in nationally recognized comic book titles such as Spawn , Shadowhawk, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and  Toy Designer for McFarlane Toys.  Chance also received an Emmy Certificate honoring his work as one of five Main Character Designer for the Emmy Award Winning HBO animated series “SPAWN”.

But let’s go back to how it all began.

Chance’s “production art” started as early as second grade whipping out crudely drawn Batman and Superman drawings for his second grade classmates.  The Nuns at his Catholic school were not as pleased as the students were but non the less...the artist was born and nothing was going to stop him.

His first Summer out of high school found him apprenticing in a Sign Shop.  For the next ten years, he would master the art of old school hand lettering signs, race cars, van murals and anything paint would stick to.

The following decade would be his first step into the national market as his talents were discovered by Todd McFarlane and Jim Valentino of IMAGE Comics company.  He was hired by Jim Valentino to be his Inker on the Shadowhawk comic book series while Todd McFarlane kept him busy lettering his race cars and ultimately hiring him to work on the internationally recognized SPAWN comic book.

Life has its challenges as Chance found that he began suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome making it too painful to work in comics any longer.  A new career was born as his love for performing magic also forced him to design and build his own apparatus. Given his passion for that, he and his wife Shelley decided to form Wolfs Magic Inc. and soon became the TOP manufacturer in Children’s Magic and Fine Collectible Magic Apparatus.

What does all this have to do with puppets? EVERYTHING!

His compilation of experience in Illustration, Toy Designer, Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing, combined with his childhood fascination with Ventriloquist figures, drew him to the ultimate creative challenge...

Creating three dimensional LIVING CARTOONS...so to speak.

Within a few weeks of discovering the new art of modern Ventriloquist Figures, Chance took after it like a dog on a bone. His first figure build utilized a Mike Brose kit.  It was natural instinct to begin designing his own mechanical methods combined with traditional methods and the first result was not too shabby.

The bug had bitten and Chance decided to take the next year to study the art, the market and form a business model that could possibly work.

On January 1, 2016 Wolf VENTS was born!  Following his business model of producing multiple figures at a time, production began on his first three characters, Snortz, Rocko and the Cheeky Boy.

Chance fully understands the importance of a reliable mechanism and continues to discover better ways to build, innovative mechanisms and most of all offer QUALITY and RELIABILITY.

With his first debut of his work at the 2016 Vent haven conVENTion, Chance set a solid foundation as an up and coming force in the art of building ventriloquist figures!  Capturing the eyes and interest of so many wonderful people including Terry Fator who was extremely impressed at first glance.  This is only the beginning of what is sure to be the strongest commitment to art, innovation and excellence that Chance has ever taken on!

The Spawnmobile:

Initial sketch design for “Snortz”. I strayed from the initial design as my vision grew as the clay moved.

“Chance continues to astonish, impress and humble me not only with the extraordinary range of his talent, but with the excellence with which he employs it. I have watched him master every art form he attempts from music to sign painting, illustration to magic acts, cartoons to creating ventriloquist dummies. He is one of the most consummate artists I have ever known, not merely content to try completely different forms of art, but excelling in them.
